I do not expect any particular degree of popularity from this blog; this is more a tool for me to vent things out of my head. However, it is my hope that people will find at least some of the posts to follow to be informative, stimulating, interesting, or at the very least a tolerable read. Of course, like many blog writers I fully expect the majority of my readers to be automated spambots fully intent on overwhelming my posts with comments advertising the latest Rolex knock-offs, Viagra ripoffs, and enlargement pills of dubious manufacture, but hey, it's all part of the fun, right?
One final note: like everything posted on the internet, take everything I say with a grain of salt (a very awkward phrase, if you think about it). For one thing, I am hardly an expert on many of the matters that I will likely post about, so if you have differing opinions or find that the facts don't quite match up what I am rambling on about, feel free to point out my errors. Do not take it as malicious intent; I am human, and therefore ignorant. I form my opinions based on what I believe to be true. This does not mean that I know everything about that subject to make such a judgment. Similarly, what I say here is not necessarily representative of who I am as a person. You are only seeing small snapshots of my thought process being spewed out in a written form, which hardly captures everything flying through my head at that particular moment.
And finally, a note about the title of the blog. I purposefully chose a title that represented what this blog was about but also was ambiguous enough that it could be interpreted to mean either:
- A rambling essay, going from one subject to another without necessarily any strong cohesion between topics; or
- A discussion presented using reasoning and rational arguments.
